A unique circular design draws air in from all sides, passing it through a charcoal pre-filter and a very effective HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter. The ‘fresh’ air outdoors can also carry pollens, mould spores, animal danders (hairs), industrial pollutants and a range of other triggers for allergic symptoms. This purpose designed vacuum cleaner removes 99.98% of particles, down to as small as 0.2 microns in size. This efficiency is made possible by a four stage filtration process. The process involves passing the incoming air through a paper dust storage bag, the main filter, a microfilter and finally a High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter.

The microfilter, which is fitted over the motor, removes many of the allergenic particles in the air, down to as small as 0.2 microns. It also protects the motor itself from larger particles of harmful, gritty dust. The HEPA filter is even more efficient, completing the removal (to 99.98%) of the smallest particles (0.2 microns).

By removing these ultra fine particles from the air, the GM400 protects allergy sufferers from repeated exposure to the same dust. Most normal vacuum cleaners re-circulate the finer dust particles, blowing them back out through their exhaust vent. Inhaling this fine dust can make vacuum cleaning a very uncomfortable, even dangerous activity for the allergic individual using a standard vacuum cleaner.
